About Us
We are Christie and Jacob, and we're so excited to celebrate this next chapter with the people who mean the most to us. What began as a chance introduction at Wayne State quickly turned into late-night conversations, countless adventures, and a relationship built on trust, laughter, and supporting one another through every season of life.
Together we've learned that the best relationships aren't perfect—they're built one day at a time with patience, shared goals, plenty of laughs, and the willingness to keep choosing each other. We're grateful for the families and friends who have helped shape our journey, and we're excited to begin our marriage surrounded by all of you
How We Met
We met in the fall of 2023 at the Engineering Building at Wayne State University. Jacob and Christie's younger sister were coworkers/teaching assistants for WSU's Basic Engineering course. From a simple question of how your summer went turned into Jen bringing Christie to meet Jacob a few weeks later.
It wasn't love at first sight, and it certainly wasn't like the movies. There were no dramatic slow-motion moments or hair blowing in the wind—just two people who genuinely enjoyed talking to each other. Looking back, that ordinary beginning turned into something extraordinary.
Then came the infamous first text:
"But seriously, what gives?" from an almost awkward, and luckily not mistrued first text, Jacob almost blew it before it even started. Fortunately, what could have been a disastrous first impression became one of our favorite stories to laugh about. Soon after, we went on our first date—a double date with Jen and TJ—to see Disney's Frozen at the Detroit Opera House. Between the awkward moments, great conversation, and plenty of laughter, something special began to grow. Looking back now, it's hard to imagine our story starting any other way.

Our Journey
Since meeting in 2023, life has moved quickly—in the best way. From our first (slightly awkward) double date to countless dinners, road trips, holidays, and ordinary evenings together, we've discovered that our favorite memories are often the simplest ones.
Along the way we've encouraged each other's careers, celebrated milestones, supported one another through challenges, and dreamed about the future we're building together. Every experience has strengthened our friendship and reminded us why we make such a great team.
Now we're looking forward to our biggest adventure yet: becoming husband and wife. We're incredibly thankful for everyone who has supported us along the way, and we can't wait to celebrate this day with all of you.
